Prenatal Massage 101

Why Moms-To-Be Should Attend

During pregnancy, the body undergoes some pretty remarkable changes as you undergo the evolution necessary to provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for you and your developing baby. However, this process can also come along with some emotional and physical discomforts.

For instance, did you know that during pregnancy the body produces 50% more blood and other bodily fluids in order to meet the needs of your growing baby?

Incredible, right? The extra production of fluid is necessary to help soften the body to allow for the expansion needed as the baby develops. It also helps prepare the pelvis and surrounding tissues for delivery. But, that added fluid can cause swelling, or edema of the ankles, hands, legs, feet, and face, as well as sluggish circulation, disruptive sleep, and even headaches.

That’s where prenatal massage comes in!

Treating your ever-changing body naturally with prenatal massage is a great way to reduce or relieve some of the symptoms accompanying pregnancy. It also benefits your baby!

Please join me for Prenatal Massage 101 on Wednesday, August 12th at 12:30 pm CDT to find out how prenatal massage can help support you in your pregnancy.

What to “Expect”

During this webinar, I will be discussing the benefits of incorporating massage into your prenatal practice to help:

- Reduce back pain
- Reduce swelling
- Improve circulation
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Improve sleep

This webinar will explore some of these side effects in greater detail and outline how they can affect you and your baby. We will also be discussing how prenatal massage can help to reduce or relieve these symptoms and talk about what to expect when receiving prenatal specific massage.

Prenatal massage works to achieve many of the same goals as traditional massage, but it is specifically tailored to the changing needs of you and your baby. We will discuss those differences, and I will also provide information on how to best find a practitioner qualified to treat your specific needs.
